The African Language Program provides students flexibility in acquiring new languages or advancing their skills by offering both Half Course and Full Course options of language study.
Half courses
Most language courses in the program can be taken as semester long Half Courses in accordance with the guidelines set by the Office of the Registrar at Harvard University. Students may start their first semester of a language level either in the Fall semester or Spring semester, depending on their schedule.
Full courses
Due to the increased popularity and resource allocation, some language courses in the program require full year enrollment. Students are advised to consult the ALP Coordinator when planning their course schedule around specific language courses in order to address any possible conflicts.
