Call for Papers
8th African Languages in the Disciplines
and Professions’ Conference (ALDP)

April 21st -23rd, 2017
Conakry, the capital of Guinea, has been selected by UNESCO to be the world Capital of the Books this year 2017. Kofi Anan and Harvard Universities are seizing this opportunity to move the traditionally Harvard held ALDP Conference to Conakry this year from April 21-23. Our plenary sessions will include scholars and activist’s presentations from broad areas of disciplines and professions. We are seeking scholars to give papers and serve on panels for the conference. The Conference Scientific Committee welcomes proposals on the theme of “Progress of African Languages in Disciplines and Professions”.
We welcome complete panel proposals but will accept single submissions.
Proposals must be submitted by email in pdf format sent to harvardalp@gmail.com. Please include your contact information and affiliation. ALD applications require an abstract outlining a 15-minute presentation as well as a brief biography of the applicant.
The conference's languages of communication are French, English and African languages.

The deadline for proposals has been extended to March 31, 2017. The Conference Scientific Committee will review proposals by April 15, and send out notices.
