**Instructor: Mekonenen SeifuStudents: Bruke Wossenseged, Ethiopia Getachew, Hable Fitsum, Helina Tamiru, Tsion Daniel, Lidya TadessePrécis: This play is based on a popular children’s song in Ethiopia, where a young man is looking for a fiance and finally falls in love with a beautiful girl. The story is one of adventure, love, and grief, teaching a lesson of undying love.**

  
**ርዕስ፡ በዚያ በበጋ - TITLE: Beza Be Bega**

SCENE 1

Narrator - In the summer, in the heat

Narrator - a fiance he could not find

Bruke - In this summer, in this heat. I cannot find a fiance

Narrator - As it dawned, he found somewhere to sleep

Bruke - It is night. I need somewhere to sleep.

SCENE 2

Mother - What is it it my child? Are you okay?

Bruke - I am okay, but I am very tired and I have nowhere to sleep?

Mother - Come, get inside.  
Narrator - He saw the girl all covered up Bruke - wow that girl is very beatiuful Mother: Where are you coming from?



**አማርኛ (Amharic)**

ትዕይንት 1

  
Narrator - በዛ በበጋ በዛ በሙቅት  
Narrator - እጮኛ ጠፍቶ ፍለጋ  
ብሩክ - በዚ በጋ በዚ በጋ። እጮኛ ማግኘት አቃተኝ።

Narrator - መሸበትና ሰው ቤት ገባ

ብሩክ - መሸ። መደሪያ ቦታ ማግኘት አለብኝ።

ትዕይንት 2

እናት - ምን ነው ልጀ? ደና ነህ?

ብሩክ - ደና ነኝ እማ፣ ግን በጣም ደክሞኛል እና ማደርበት ቦታ የለኝም

Mother - ና ግባ ቤት፣ አይዞህ  
Narrator - ልጅትዋን አያት ተከናንባ Bruke - ዋው ያቺ ልጅ በጣም ቆንጆ ናት Mother: ከየት ነው የተጓዝከው

Sister - You’ve had a long and difficult journey

Mother - Why don’t you get some rest tonight

Sister - Yes, good night. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Bruke - Thank you guys so much for your kindness.

SCENE 3

narrator - He liked her - she liked him

Helina - You are very good looking, handsome.

Bruke - You think so?

Helina - Yes, very. And you have strong arms

Bruke - I also thought you are very beautiful, you would make a good wife.

Helina - Then do something about it, let’s run away together and start a new life away from here

Bruke - Are you sure?  
Helina - Yes, more than anything Bruke - okay, come come



ብሩክ: አባቴ የሚያስፈልገኝን ነገር ለማግኘት እንድሄድ ላከኝ። እቤትህ እንድቆይ ስለፈቀድክልኝ አመሰግናለሁ።

እህት: ረጅም እና አስቸጋሪ ጉዞ አሳልፈሃል Mother: ለምን ዛሬ ማታ ትንሽ እረፍት አታገኝም። Sister: አዎ ደህና እደር  
ብሩክ: ስለ ደግነትህ አመሰግናለሁ።

ትዕይንት 3

narrator - ወደዳት ወደደችው፣

ሕሊና - በጣም ታምራለህ፣ የኔ ሽበላ

ብሩክ - ይመስልሻል?

ሕሊና - አዎ በጣም። እና እጆችህ በጣም ጠንካራ እጆች አሉህ

ብሩክ - ብሩክ - እኔም በጣም ቆንጆ እንደሆንሽ አስቤ ነበር, ጥሩ ሚስት ትሆኛለሽ

ሕሊና - እንደዛ ከሆነ የሆነ ነገር አድርግ - እንጥፋ እና አዲስ ህዎት እንጀምር

ብሩክ - እርግጠኛ ነሽ?  
ሕሊና - አዎ, ከምንም ነገር በላይ Bruke - እሺ, ነይ ነይ።

Narrator - And then, and then, they walked very far

Helina - Where are we going

Bruke - Our home

Helina - Is it far?

Bruke - Not too far, don’t worry - I will help you

Narrator - They reached Abay river as it was very full

Helina - Bruke?

Bruke - What is it honey?

Helina - I can’t swim

Bruke - Oh no, it’s okay I will help you

SCENE 5

Mother - Oh my, where is my daughter?

Mother - He took my child!!!

Sister - Helina! Helina! Where are you?!

Sister - We looked and looked for her, but we cannot find her

SCENE 6  
Narrator - As they tried to cross the river Helina - ahhhhhhhh helppp  
Bruke - ahhhhhhhh comeeee  
Narrator - His love drowned



ትዕይንት 4

Narrator - ደግሞ ደግሞ ብዙ ተግዋዙ Helina: የት ነው የምንሄደው?  
  
ብሩክ: እቤታችን  
ሕሊና - እሩክ ነው?  
ብሩክ - አይደለም፣ አታስቢ፣ አግዚሻልው Narrator - አባይ ደረሱ በጣም ከሞላ

ሕሊና - ብሩክ?  
ብሩክ - ምነው ማሬ?  
ሕሊና - መዋኘት አይሆንልኝም  
ብሩክ - አዪ፣ ችግር የለውም አግዝሻለው

  
ትዕይንት 5

  
እናት - ውይኔ ልጄ ዬት ናት?  
እናት - ልጄን ወሰደብኝ  
እህት - ሄሊና! ሄሊና! ይት ነሽ?!  
እህት- ፈለግናት ፈለግናት ግን ልናገኛት አልቻልንም።

ትዕይንት 6  
Narrator - ለመሻገር  
ሕሊና - አህህህህህህ እግዘኝ Bruke - አህህህህህህ ነይይይይይይ Narrator - ሰምጣ ከረች የሱ ፍቅሩ

Family - Where is she?

Bruke - With God

Family - What??

Bruke - She died

Helina - I died

(everyone sobs)

Bruke - My love, my love, I will not forget you until the grave

Bruke - You are gone forever  
Bruke - Noone can escape from death Mother - Noone can escape from death Sister - Noone can escape from death Sister - Noone can escape !from death.

Narrator - አዘነና ሆዱ ባባ አለቀሰ የፍቅር እንባ

ቤተሰብ - የት ናት

ብሩክ - ከእግዚአብሔር ጋር

ሕሊና - ሞትኩ

(ሁሉም አለቀሰ)

ብሩክ - የእኔ ፍቅር የእኔ ፍቅር አልረሳሽም እስከ መቃብር

ብሩክ - ሄደሻል አንቺ ለዘላለም Bruke - መቼስ ከሞት የሚቀር የለም Mother - መቼስ ከሞት የሚቀር የለም Sister - መቼስ ከሞት የሚቀር የለም Sister - መቼስ ከሞት የሚቀር የለም
