Before joining the African Language Program at Harvard University, Dr. Bayingana taught for 15 years in
various Universities in Zimbabwe and South Africa (Faculty of Business Studies). He has been teaching Kinyarwanda (Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced levels) for the last 5 years. In 2013, he was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Teaching from the Department of African and Africa American Studies. He also taught Kinyarwanda in High School in the 70s & 80s with passion back home in Rwanda. He received Kinyarwanda training and attended many workshops at the National University of Rwanda and Institute of Teacher Training (IPN). He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Pune, in India.
