Roudnie [ROOD-Nee] Célestin migrated to the United States from Pétion-Ville, Haiti in 2003.
She has a native fluency in Haitian-Creole, French and English, with a working proficiency in Spanish. She appreciates the cognitive flexibility found in language as a whole and the enrichment gained in learning new languages.
Prior to joining Harvard's African Language Program, she has worked in Higher Education, Banking and Healthcare. She is happy to have advocated for clients as a Volunteer Case Manager at the Haitian Multi Service Center's Basic Needs Program (Catholic Charities).
She holds a B.A. in Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Boston where she also enjoyed her studies in Philosophy of Law. She hopes to continue her studies towards a Juris Doctor and later practice law.
